Our Story
Hi everyone! welcome to SAKURAKIRUU's little intro page! As we all know, SAKURAKIRUU is a small business focusing on handmade 1 of 1 fashion reworks, our small business is ran by our artist, Sammy! :)
*SAKURAKIRUU's story will be told in Sammy's POV

SAKURAKIRUU began in 2024 when I just graduated from being a fashion student, I was looking for jobs here and there, but finding jobs was harder than i thought.. I had sent my CV to several companies who were looking for fashion designers, and I managed to secure a few job interviews. However, I was bored waiting for the email replies from the companies I applied to, so I started making fashion rework content on tiktok!
On August 12th 2024, I got this idea of making cute fish patches from fabric scraps and sewing it onto a shirt i thrifted, I recorded everything and posted it on tiktok, I didn't think much of the video after posting it, but it surprisingly blew up!! The next morning my DMs were flooded with messages from people requesting that I start selling my works, I liked the idea of it, so I got to work making shirts for my shop!
A week later, I got an email notifying me that I've been hired to the job I applied for!! yay!!
I was so happy but what about my brand..? I promised everyone that I would start selling my work, breaking a promise doesn't feel right, so i did my best to do my first ever SAKURAKIRUU drop under a month whislt packing and preparing everything as I was going to move away to another city for my job. It was extremely stressful, but I managed to do my first drop on 1st September 2024, I didn't have a proper system, I did it through instagram DMs and the whole thing crashed for two hours because it got flooded within minutes! (つ╥﹏╥)つ
It was not the smoothest first drop, but I'm glad everything worked out in the end :")
After moving to another city, I thought I could craft for SAKURAKIRUU on my spare time during the weekends or after coming home from work. Unfortunately, I ended up just overworking myself, I had to be hospitalized cus I got really sick

With a heavy heart, I announced on my socials that I will be temporarily quitting my brand, I felt like I was letting a lot of people down, but I'm so glad everyone took it well, they sent me very sweet, thoughtful and supportive messages, they wished me a speedy recovery and told me that I should prioritize my health first, so I did! :)
After finishing my contract, I came home to my city for good, I knew I wanted to continue working on SAKURAKIRUU since it has always been my dream to become both an artist and a fashion designer, and since then, I've been working on more drops and even made this website with the help of my good friend! ♡

SAKURAKIRUU still has a long way to go, but I'm grateful that I have my loved ones supporting me, thankyou to all my friends and family who has supported me in achieving my dreams! Thankyou to mum who started helping me sew on my patches, and to dad who is always there to support the both of us!

Lastly, I want to say that I'm so happy and grateful to have you, the person reading this right now! I'm so lucky to have someone out there who appreciates my work, thankyou so much for taking the time to read this page and for getting to know us better!
I'll continue to give it my all and I'll do my best to improve SAKURAKIRUU ♡

Lots of love, Sammy ♡
